Bat Paddle

On this incredibly popular tour, you’ll take a 2 mile paddle to the famous Congress Avenue Bridge where you’ll watch and listen to over 1.5 million bats flying overhead en route to their nightly feeding. The 4-mile round-trip is accompanied by one of our excellent Rowing Dock Guides who will also teach you about prominent architecture across the skyline, the Austin power plant, Auditorium Shores, and more. The tour is approximately two hours but please allow three hours, as the bats dictate our timing!

Yappy Hour and College Day are specials we offer each week. Every Tuesday we offer a Yappy Hour Special all day long. Bring your pup out for a paddle and get your 2nd Hour of regular rentals free. Every Wednesday is College Day. Bring your college ID and get 50% off any regular rental.

Do you offer lake clean up days?

Yes, we actually have lake clean up days with free paddling through Keep Ausin Beautiful. You can go to their website for details on when these days might happen.

Are your events ticketed or first come, first serve?

Each event is different. Starting in 2020, our full moon paddles will be ticketed as well as specialty events like our Fireworks July 4th paddle and Paddle for Puppies are ticketed. Yappy Hour and College Day are first come first served.

Can I bring a pet that is not a dog and receive the yappy hour discount?

Yes! In the spirit of Keep Austin Weird, we welcome all pigs, lizards, birds, cats and pretty much whatever else you can think up. Please note, toxins were detected in blue-green algae in Lady Bird Lake on July 14, 2020. To protect the safety of our pups and all animals, Rowing Dock will not allow pets on boats until further notice. More Info.

Can I bring my cooler to ticketed events?

Sure thing, feel free to bring along whatever you like. Keep in mind there is limited space inside of boats, so small coolers generally work better. Please do not bring any glass.

Do I need to wear my life jacket during events?

While life jackets do not need to be worn during day-time events, we do require life jackets to be worn during after-hours events.
