Yappy Hour

We always welcome your fur babies! But Tuesday is truly a day for the dogs. We’ll give you a FREE hour rental after the purchase of one hour with a barker on board.

While we’ve seen pooches in all of our boats, we recommend the standup paddleboards because they’re much easier to get back on to.

Please note, given the history of poisonous toxins found in the blue-green algae in Lady Bird Lake, if you decide to bring your pet, you are doing so at your own risk. While there were no toxins found in the latest sampling of the algae (Oct, 2020), the City of Austin is still recommending that all pet owners do not let their pets/dogs swim or drink the water in Lady Bird Lake.

All pet owners will be asked to sign a pet waiver that details the history of the algae and the current status. For reference, our pet waiver is here.

Ready to get on the water?

Our rentals are on a first come, first serve basis (don’t worry, we have a ton of them).
All you have to do is show up at our dock in Zilker Park. Bring a valid photo ID, credit card, and fill out a rental waiver at the dock. Pick your boat, put on a life jacket and hit the water.

Yappy Hour FAQs

Are your events ticketed or first come, first serve?

Each event is different. Starting in 2020, our full moon paddles will be ticketed as well as specialty events like our Fireworks July 4th paddle and Paddle for Puppies are ticketed. Yappy Hour and College Day are first come first served.

Can I bring a pet that is not a dog and receive the yappy hour discount?

Yes! In the spirit of Keep Austin Weird, we welcome all pigs, lizards, birds, cats and pretty much whatever else you can think up.

Do I need to wear my life jacket during events?

While life jackets do not need to be worn during day-time events, we do require life jackets to be worn during after hours events.
