We’re a little off the beaten path, and proud of it. Once you come and visit us, we think you’ll agree.

Transportation: Given limited parking options throughout Zilker Park, we heavily encourage ride-sharing, biking, or public transit via CapMetro. There is a large gravel lot East of Mopac for easiest parking, with a 5-10 minute walk to Rowing Dock ($7/vehicle). Details here. We ask that all are respectful of our neighbors including the Nature and Science Center, and do not park in their bus/handicap lane. If you do plan to attempt to drive closer, there will be limited parking on a first come, first serve basis in the Rowing Dock parking lot or under the Mopac bridge. Due to an increase in theft in the area, please do not leave any valuables in your car.

From North Austin:
Take Loop 1 (MoPac) South.
Exit Lake Austin Boulevard exit. Head West on Lake Austin Blvd. Turn left onto Red Bud Trail. Turn left onto Stratford Drive. Rowing Dock will be on your left.

From South Austin:
Take Mopac North and exit Lake Austin Blvd. Turn left onto Lake Austin Blvd. Turn left onto Red Bud Trail. Turn left onto Stratford. Rowing Dock will be on your left.

How do I get to Rowing Dock? Can I drive?

FROM DOWNTOWN AUSTIN

Head south via the Congress, South First Street or Lamar Street Bridge. Turn right on Barton Springs Road. Pass Shady Grove and Chuy’s, and continue straight past Azie Morton Rd. Pass through Zilker Park, and turn right on Stratford Drive, just past the soccer fields. Follow Stratford Drive under MoPac and continue on Stratford until you see our blue and sign on the right. Turn into the gravel parking lot. Go to the blue canopy on the water.

FROM NORTH AUSTIN

Travel south on Loop 1 (MoPac). Exit 2244/Bee Caves/Rollingwood. Take the U-Turn under Mopac (Loop 1) to head north. Remain on the northbound access road as it veers to the right, and becomes Barton Springs Road. Just after the Zilker Botanical Gardens on the left, turn left onto Stratford Drive. Follow Stratford as it goes under MoPac and continue until you see our blue sign on the right, about 300 yards past the Mopac bridge. Rowing Dock has a large gravel parking lot. Head toward the blue canopy on the water.

FROM SOUTH AUSTIN AND DRIPPING SPRINGS

Head east on Highway 290 to Loop 1 North (MoPac). Exit 2244/Bee Caves/Rollingwood. Remain on the northbound access road as it veers to the right, and becomes Barton Springs Road. Just after the Zilker Botanical Gardens, turn left onto Stratford Drive. Follow Stratford as it goes under MoPac. Rowing Dock has a large gravel parking lot on your right, about 300 yards past MoPac. Park and walk to the dock with the blue canopy.

FROM SAN ANTONIO

Head north on I-35. Exit Riverside Drive and go west (left). Turn left on Barton Springs Road. Continue past Lamar Blvd, pass Shady Grove and Chuy’s, and continue straight past Azie Morton Rd. Pass through Zilker Park, and turn right on Stratford Drive, just past the soccer fields. Follow Stratford Drive under MoPac and continue on Stratford until you see our blue sign on the right. Turn right into the gravel parking lot. Go to the blue canopy on the water.

FROM DALLAS

WALKING DIRECTIONS FROM LADY BIRD LAKE HIKE & BIKE TRAIL

From the south side of the MoPac pedestrian bridge, take the sidewalk to Stratford Drive (toward the Austin Science and Nature Center). The sidewalk ends as you turn right; stay on the grass. Walk downhill to the gravel parking lot on the right. You’ll see blue posts that mark our lot. Walk over to the blue canopy to rent your boat.
