Trash Captains are leaders of designated smaller groups of volunteers. You will guide your group either on the water by boat or on the land along a predetermined route; ensuring your group finds as much trash as possible and returns to the trash weigh station on time. Trash Captains that are leading groups on the water need prior paddling experience and knowledge of Lady Bird Lake. Water-based Trash Captains may need to motivate their group to paddle faster or further in order to get to locations with higher volumes of trash, while also ensuring the group follows water safety protocols.

 

** All Trash Captains will be required to attend a Zoom training meeting before the event to ensure they are well prepared to lead their crew.
